We are all impressed that our very own Principal Director, Andrew Day, managed to roll back the years and compete in the largest open water swimming event in Europe at the weekend involving over 8000 swimmers over 3 days in the iconic setting on Brockhole on Lake Windermere in the Lake District.
Andrew commented “I was very pleased that the water temperature got to a balmy 20 degrees and that I was able to get my wetsuit on inside 20 minutes and follow a fellow competitor for most of the second half of the race”.
Andrew finished the one mile swim in a very respectable 26:41 minutes which placed him 66th overall out of 2659 competitors and 10th in his age category.
Andrew was swimming for the Christie Hospital in Manchester and it is not too late to make a donation should anyone wish to do so:

Well done to all involved and thanks to everyone who has supported Andrew and made a donation which is very much appreciated.
